YONEX Nanoflare 001 Feel Badminton Racket
The YONEX Nanoflare 001 Feel is a head light badminton racket designed for beginner players looking to improve swing speed and shuttle control. It’s suitable for school competitions, club training and casual court play across New Zealand. If you are starting out and want a racket that is easy to handle but still supports power development, this is a practical choice.
Its lightweight design and hi-flex shaft make it forgiving for newcomers while encouraging faster, more controlled strokes.
Quick and Responsive on the Court
The head light balance enhances manoeuvrability, helping beginners react quickly to smashes, drives and net play. The Sonic Flare System works with high modulus graphite at the top and bottom of the frame to improve repulsion, making it easier to generate shuttle speed without extra effort.
For players learning technique, the extra 10mm length gives slightly more reach on clears and net shots, helping cover the court more efficiently.
Frame and Shaft Construction
The Isometric head shape enlarges the sweet spot for more consistent shots, even on off centre hits. A slim shaft reduces air resistance for faster swings, while the Aero Frame design helps maintain shuttle speed through the stroke.
Control Support Cap and Energy Boost CAP PLUS technologies stabilise the frame and shaft, giving beginners more confidence in shot placement and handling during rallies.

Is the Nanoflare 001 Feel suitable for beginners?
Yes. It is designed for beginner players who want a lightweight, head-light racket that supports faster swing speed and easier shuttle control.
What does hi-flex mean for this racket?
Hi-flex shafts bend more easily, helping beginners generate power with less effort while maintaining control and reducing strain.
Can this racket be used for doubles and singles?
Yes. Its manoeuvrable head light design works well for both singles coverage and doubles quick reactions.
How does it compare to other YONEX Nanoflare rackets?
The 001 Feel is entry-level, focusing on easy handling and swing speed. Higher models in the Nanoflare range offer stiffer shafts, faster repulsion and more advanced performance for intermediate and advanced players.

Badminton Rackets are labelled with two parts that indicate their size:
-
Weight (U number): tells you how heavy the racket is.
-
Grip Size (G number): tells you how thick the handle is.
The grip size will come immediately after the weight code. For example, in 4U5: 4U = racket weight & 5 = Grip Size (circumference).
Racket Weights
Choosing the right racket weight makes a big difference to how you play. Here is a simple breakdown to help you pick the right fit.
-
3F (60-64g): Super light, fastest handling - great for players wanting maximum manoeuvrability.
-
2F (65-69g): Ultra-light, quick reactions - suits defensive or control-focused play.
-
5U (75-79g): Very Light, easy manoeuvring - great for defensive or all-round styles.
-
4U (80-84g): Light and quick - Ideal for doubles and fast rallies.
-
3U (85-89g): Balanced weight - all-round styles and the most popular option traditionally.
Grip Sizes
Badminton racket grips should be big enough so that when holding the handle correctly (like shaking someone's hand), the tip of your ring finger shouldn't touch your palm.
-
G4 - 86mm circumferential grip size.
-
G5 - 83mm circumferential grip size.
-
G6 - 80mm circumferential grip size.
If you are unsure of your racket grip size, you can always opt for the smaller option and make it bigger with the addition of an overgrip.
Please note: racket weights and grip sizes can vary slightly between brands.
