The roots of Gray-Nicolls can be traced back to 1855 when, H J Gray the future world rackets champion and a well-known sportsman, first established the Grays business in Cambridge, England. By the turn of the century Gray-Nicolls was well established and used by iconic figures such as W G Grace who mused a Gray-Nicolls bat to score his 100th Century in May 1894. Throughout this illustrious story of progress, much has remained the same. The top Gray-Nicolls bats are still hand made in England and Australia by expert craftsman. The company still grows all its own willow in England and continues to develop its unique record of product innovation.
