Gunn & Moore Maxi Signature Cricket Bat
The Gunn & Moore Maxi Signature Cricket Bat is a Grade 2 English willow cricket bat designed for club cricketers who want the distinctive compact Maxi shape at a more accessible price than the higher grade Original models. With its 540 mm blade, low swell and F2 face profile, the Maxi Signature is particularly well suited to attacking, front foot dominant batters who value quick pickup and bat speed.
The compact blade gives the Maxi a noticeably different feel from a conventional senior cricket bat. It is a good option for players who want to get the bat through quickly while retaining plenty of willow through the lower hitting area.
The Maxi Signature is made from Grade 2 English willow, making it a practical option for regular club cricket. Compared with higher grade Maxi models, you can expect more cosmetic variation in the willow, but you still get the same core Maxi profile and playing characteristics.
GM NOW! Preparation
The Maxi comes with GM NOW! preparation, a protective facing and ToeTek™ fitted, reducing the preparation required before you begin using the bat.
We still recommend gradually introducing any new English willow cricket bat to harder impacts. Start with gentle throwdowns and an older cricket ball before progressing through spin and seam bowling in the nets. This gives the newly prepared willow time to condition before facing a hard new ball in match play.
Who is the GM Maxi Signature best for?
The GM Maxi Signature is best suited to club cricketers who favour attacking, front foot stroke play and want a Grade 2 English willow bat with a compact blade.
It is particularly worth considering if you like the Maxi profile but do not need the higher willow grade found in the premium models. Players who prefer a conventional blade length or a higher middle may be better suited to another GM profile.
What should you consider before buying?
The Maxi's 540 mm blade and low swell give it a different feel and hitting profile from a conventional senior cricket bat. Players who prefer a traditional blade length or want the main hitting area positioned higher up the blade may be better suited to another GM profile.
If you are a front foot dominant player who likes a compact, responsive bat, the Maxi is well worth comparing in hand.

Frequently asked questions
What grade willow is the GM Maxi Signature Cricket Bat?
The GM Maxi Signature is made from Grade 2 English willow. It is a good option for regular club cricketers who want the Maxi shape without moving into the higher grade willow used in more expensive models.
What type of batter suits the GM Maxi Signature?
The Maxi Signature particularly suits attacking, front foot dominant batters. Its low swell puts more of the profile towards the lower blade, while the compact 540 mm blade provides a responsive feel for players who value bat speed.
Is the GM Maxi Signature good for T20 cricket?
Yes. The compact blade, responsive pickup and lower hitting profile make the Maxi Signature particularly relevant for positive T20 batting. Its profile can also be used effectively in longer formats by players whose technique suits a lower middle.
Does the GM Maxi Signature need knocking in?
The GM Maxi comes with GM NOW! preparation, a facing and ToeTek™ already fitted, so the traditional knocking in process has been completed for you. We still recommend gradually introducing the bat to harder cricket balls through several net sessions before full match use.
This Gunn & Moore bat comes fitted with a facing, GM NOW! and ToeTek™ so you can hit the nets straight away skipping the knock in process if you like.
