Karaka Cricket Club was founded in 1984 and is situated at the Karaka Sports Park on Blackbridge Road approximately 5 minutes from the Papakura exit on Auckland’s Southern Motorway.
The Club has produced many age group and senior Counties Manukau, Northern Districts and New Zealand representatives, the most notable being Richard de Groen and Blair Pocock as well as current Blackcap Corey Anderson. Yet the most notable product of the club would be that of current All Blacks captain Kieran Read who still holds the record for the Highest Individual Score by any Senior Premier player which he scored at the age of 19.
