Players Sports is an omni-channel retail destination. We specialise in sports equipment, sports footwear, teamwear and supporters’ gear - servicing the wants and needs of Kiwis who are serious about their sport.

With our network of wholesalers including over 90 international brands, we team up and bring you ranges with a mix of the most affordable with the highest quality.

Our customers on any given day vary from passionate sports people, to parents looking for advice on the right gear for their children, to school teachers and club coaches needing to upgrade their equipment or teamwear supplies.

Like any sports team, the Players' team is made up of individuals with different but complementing skills. We work together in our ‘positions’ across the office, distribution centre, workshop areas and shop floors with a collective goal of providing our customers the best specialist sports retail environment in New Zealand.

Brief History & Background

When we opened in Newmarket, Auckland in late 2012 we only stocked cricket equipment, operating solely under the now sub-brand Players Cricket. 

Over the subsequent months and years, we progressively and strategically rolled out our other categories including Players Netball, Players Rugby, Players Football, Players Rackets, Players Hockey, Players Rugby League and Players Basketball. 

We now cater for all the major New Zealand sporting codes along with our Players Footwear, Players Fan Gear, Players Outlet and Players Club & School sub-brands which further streamline the shopping experience for our wide range of customers.
