Kookaburra Ghost Pro Players Long Blade Senior Cricket Bat
The Kookaburra Ghost Pro Players Long Blade Senior Cricket Bat is a top-grade English Willow cricket bat designed specifically for taller senior batters. It combines Pro Players Grade unbleached English Willow with a balanced mid profile and a longer blade, and is designed to provide an easy pick-up. The Long Blade construction is the key difference with this version of the Ghost Pro Players. Its slightly longer blade length is intended for taller batters and encourages a more upright stance when taking guard.
At the heart of the bat is Pro Players Grade unbleached English Willow, Kookaburra's top-grade willow specification for this model. It positions the Ghost Pro Players for use at the highest grades of cricket in New Zealand.
What should you consider before buying?
The Long Blade version is only recommended for taller batters. If you do not need the additional blade length, the standard Short Handle version of the Ghost Pro Players may be more appropriate.

Pro Players Grade Willow
This grade is cosmetically the best of the best, which often produce fantastic performing bats. These bats will typically have straight and evenly spaced grains, with only very minor visual imperfections or redwood visible on the bat.
---------------
Kookaburra sources its willow from the UK, working with the world’s leading growers. When grading cricket bats, several factors are considered beyond the key features mentioned above.
-
Performance: Relative to the ping or rebound of the cleft is an integral part of the grading process.
-
Grains: The straightness, and evenness of grains in the willow.
-
Density: Referring to the natural weight of each cleft.
-
Cosmetic: Whether minor or major, blemishes or imperfections—cosmetic or performance-related—are assessed based on their type and where they appear on the bat.
-
Colour: The proportion of sapwood and heartwood (redwood) in the cleft, and any other natural discolouration.
