Gunn & Moore Rival Premier 404 Junior Cricket Bat
The Gunn & Moore Rival Premier 404 Junior Cricket Bat is an entry level Grade 3 English willow cricket bat designed for developing junior players who want to move into English willow. Available from Size 3 through to Harrow, it brings the Rival's low swell and attacking profile into a broad range of junior sizes for school and club cricket.
It is a practical option for growing cricketers who want a genuine English willow bat without moving into the more expensive higher grade junior models.
The Rival combines a low swell, F2 face, Powerarc bow and substantial toe depth. This puts plenty of shape towards the lower hitting area, making it particularly relevant for junior players developing their front foot game and learning to attack fuller deliveries. The profile remains versatile enough for developing stroke play around the ground, rather than being limited to one type of shot.
Who is the GM Rival Premier 404 Junior best for?
The GM Rival Premier 404 Junior is best for developing junior cricketers looking for an entry level Grade 3 English willow bat for school and club cricket. The broad Size 3 to Harrow range makes it suitable for different stages of junior cricket, provided the correct individual size and weight are selected.
GM NOW! Preparation
The Rival comes with GM NOW! preparation, a protective facing and ToeTek™ fitted, reducing the preparation required before net use.
Even with factory preparation, we recommend a gradual introduction to harder cricket balls. Start with gentle throwdowns and an older ball before progressing through regular net bowling and eventually introducing harder new ball impacts.

GM NOW!
-
“Knocked-in” by the Gunn & Moore bat makers in Nottingham. Raw linseed oil has been applied to reduce cracking and splitting by maintaining the moisture level of the blade, with a clear bat facing also applied to the face and edges to increase blade durability.
TOETEK ™
-
DriGuard applied to resist dampness and minimise toe swelling. A specially shaped resilient toe shield has also been fitted to toe of bat. This helps reduces toe damage and feathering that is often caused by tapping at the crease. We recommend avoiding tapping your bat at the crease, or only doing so softly.
