-
NANOMESH NEO: Ensures a stronger more flexible frame, while increased shaft flex creates maximum power.
-
AERO+BOX Frame: Combines solid hitting feel and quick swing.
-
ISOMETRIC™: Increases the size of your sweet spot.
-
ROTATIONAL GENERATOR SYSTEM: By applying the counterbalance theory, weight is distributed throughout the grip end, frame top and the joint for maximum control. The transition to the next shot can be performed smoothly, with rapid succession.
-
ENERGY BOOST CAP: The new shape allows the shaft to flex, which ensures the maximum effect of Namd (more flex and faster kick-back graphite material) and stabilizes the racket face by preventing the shaft twisting, increasing control.
-
SLIM SHAFT.
-
BUILT-IN T-JOINT: Increases strength between the frame and shaft eliminating head twist for more control.
Badminton rackets are labelled with two parts:
-
Weight (U number) – tells you how heavy the racket is.
-
Grip size (G number) – tells you how thick the handle is.
-
The grip size comes immediately after the weight code.
For example, in 4U5: 4U = racket weight & 5 = Grip size (83mm circumference)
Racket Weights
Choosing the right racket weight makes a big difference to how you play. Here’s a simple breakdown to help you pick the right fit.
-
5U (75–79g): Very light, easy manoeuvring — good for defensive or all-round styles.
-
4U (80–84g): Light and quick, ideal for doubles and fast rallies.
-
3U (85–89g): Balanced weight, the most popular option for club and competitive players.
Most players in New Zealand play with 3U or 4U rackets, as these balance power and speed.
Grip Sizes
Badminton racket grips/sizes should be big enough so that when holding the handle correctly (like shaking someone’s hand), the tip of your ring finger shouldn't touch your palm.
-
G4 – 86mm circumferential grip size.
-
G5 – 83mm circumferential grip size.
-
G6 – 80mm circumferential grip size.
If you are unsure on your racket grip size, you can always make it bigger with the addition of an overgrip.
Please note: racket weights and grip sizes can vary slightly between brands.
