The O’Neills Melbourne Storm 2025 Indigenous Jersey!

This year’s Melbourne Storm Indigenous Jersey honours the journey, culture, and connection of the club’s past and present First Nations players. Worn in the 2025 Indigenous Round against the Brisbane Broncos, it’s more than just a rugby league jersey — it’s a visual story of people, place, and legacy.

Designed by David Roe (Roey), a Warumungu and Yawuru man, the artwork brings together powerful symbols from his heritage. The jersey features journey lines and meeting places that represent where players have come from — north, south, east, and west — and where they’ve come together: AAMI Park, Wurundjeri Country, home of the Storm.

Five turtles are woven into the design, symbolising Roey’s own family and the idea of returning to your roots — just like Melbourne Old Boys who reconnect with the club every year. Fish traps and dot painting motifs pay tribute to the culture of Storm’s first Indigenous player, Peter Robinson (Robbo), and the 17 Indigenous players who’ve worn the jersey to date.

From the horseshoe design honouring coach Craig Bellamy to the contemporary colours that highlight tradition in a modern way, this jersey captures the essence of rugby league, identity, and intergenerational storytelling.
