Pro 4.0 Grade Willow
At times there may be some curve in the grain structure at either end of the bat. Visual imperfections and redwood may also be evident. This grade of willow is a great value for money option.

Kookaburra sources its willow from the UK, working with the world’s leading growers. When grading cricket bats, several factors are considered beyond the key features mentioned above.

Performance: Relative to the ping or rebound of the cleft is an integral part of the grading process.

Grains: The straightness, and evenness of grains in the willow.

Density: Referring to the natural weight of each cleft.

Cosmetic: Whether minor or major, blemishes or imperfections—cosmetic or performance-related—are assessed based on their type and where they appear on the bat.

Colour: The proportion of sapwood and heartwood (redwood) in the cleft, and any other natural discolouration.
