Pro Players Grade Willow

This grade is cosmetically the best of the best, which often produce fantastic performing bats. These bats will typically have straight and evenly spaced grains, with only very minor visual imperfections or redwood visible on the bat.

Kookaburra sources its willow from the UK, working with the world’s leading growers. When grading cricket bats, several factors are considered beyond the key features mentioned above.

Performance: Relative to the ping or rebound of the cleft is an integral part of the grading process.
Grains: The straightness, and evenness of grains in the willow.
Density: Referring to the natural weight of each cleft.
Cosmetic: Whether minor or major, blemishes or imperfections—cosmetic or performance-related—are assessed based on their type and where they appear on the bat.
Colour: The proportion of sapwood and heartwood (redwood) in the cleft, and any other natural discolouration.

Short Handle: Best suited to batsmen 5ft 8in - 6ft 4in.
Long Blade: Best suited to batsmen 6ft 4in+.
