Retail Sales Assistant Full-time

Players Sports is on the lookout for passionate retail team players to help us deliver New Zealand’s best specialist sports store experience - starting with our brand-new Greenlane location.

What You’ll Do

You’ll help deliver outstanding service to our customers, both in-store and online. You’ll work across retail sales, inwards goods, and online order fulfilment - no two days are the same, and your ability to chip in across all areas will be highly valued. You’ll be based at Greenlane but may occasionally support our Onehunga store or St Johns tennis pro shop as needed.

Key responsibilities:

• Offer friendly, expert advice across our sports gear and apparel range

• Process in-store and online sales with accuracy and energy

• Assist with stock handling and inwards goods

• Pick and pack online orders quickly and correctly

• Keep the shop floor looking sharp - when you’re not serving customers, you're merchandising with a relentless eye for detail

• Bring the energy and attitude to be a trusted, team-first contributor every day

What You’ll Bring

• You’re coachable, keen to learn, and don’t shy away from hard work

• You’re comfortable talking to people, whether they’re a sports mad parent, beginner, or pro athlete

• Retail or customer service experience is a bonus - but not essential for someone with the right mindset and energy

• You’re willing to learn about the gear we sell - and if you’re the right fit, that won’t be a chore. You’ll love the chance to grow your product knowledge in-store and in your own time

The Details

• Full-time: 5 days per week, including at least one weekend day

• Typical shift times align with store hours: Monday-Thursday until 5:30pm, Friday until 6:00pm, and weekends until 4:00pm

• Pay: Competitive and based on experience

• Start date: ASAP

• Please note: This is a full-time role for applicants aged 18+ who are ready to commit to consistent weekday and weekend shifts
