The Oakley Meta Vanguard White Prizm Sapphire Sunglasses are performance smart sunglasses designed for cycling, running and outdoor training. They combine Oakley’s full-wrap Prizm™ lens design with a centred 12MP camera, open-ear audio, Meta AI features and compatible Garmin and Strava integrations, allowing athletes to capture activity and access training information without reaching for a phone.
The rugged full-wrap lens provides broad coverage, while Prizm Sapphire lens technology fine-tunes colour and contrast to make detail easier to distinguish. Oakley’s Three-Point Fit helps maintain precise optical alignment, and the frame is designed to integrate comfortably with cycling helmets.
Unobtainium® temple tips increase grip as perspiration builds, helping the glasses remain secure during movement. Interchangeable nose pads allow the contact point at the nose to be adjusted for a more stable fit.
A centred ultra-wide 12MP camera captures hands-free 3K video from the wearer’s perspective. Action Auto Capture can trigger highlights automatically, while an Action LED provides immediate feedback. Captured media can be shared with activity data overlays to provide more context around each session.
Open-ear speakers are built into the temples, allowing you to listen to audio without placing earbuds inside your ears. This design leaves the ear canal open, which can help you remain more aware of your surroundings during outdoor activity.
When paired with a compatible Garmin watch or cycling computer, Oakley Meta Vanguard can access real-time and historical activity information through Meta AI. This includes performance metrics during a session, progress data over time and post-workout summaries within the Meta AI app. Compatible Garmin devices are sold separately.
Strava integration allows captured activities to be shared with the Strava community. Post-activity media can include performance data overlays and Strava-branded stickers for sharing through Instagram and other supported channels.
Battery performance is rated at up to six hours of continuous audio or nine hours of typical daily use. The charging case provides up to 36 additional hours, while a full charge takes approximately 75 minutes. A USB-C charging cable is not included.
Who are the Oakley Meta Vanguard sunglasses best for?
The Oakley Meta Vanguard is best for cyclists, runners and outdoor athletes who want performance eyewear, hands-free activity capture, open-ear audio and connected training insights in one product. Garmin and Strava users are likely to gain the most value from its fitness integrations.
They also suit athletes who want to record first-person training or event footage without holding a phone or mounting a separate action camera.
What should you consider before buying?
The Meta AI app is essential for setting up and managing the Oakley Meta Vanguard, adjusting settings, sharing captured media and accessing its connected features. Check that your smartphone, region and preferred fitness services support the required app and features before purchasing.
Compatible Garmin devices are sold separately, and not every Garmin watch or cycling computer is confirmed to work with the glasses. A USB-C charging cable is also not supplied.
The open-ear speakers are designed to leave your ears unobstructed rather than provide the isolation of in-ear headphones. Battery life will also vary according to camera, audio, connectivity and AI feature use.

Oakley’s Three-Point Fit is designed to maintain contact at the bridge of the nose and behind the temples, supporting optical alignment without relying on pressure around the ears. Grippy Unobtainium® temple tips and interchangeable nose pads help keep the sunglasses stable during activity.
The frame is designed to integrate with cycling helmets. Fit can still vary between helmet shapes and individual head dimensions, so checking frame measurements and helmet compatibility is advisable.
